PPIC Poll Finds Prop 45 Under 50%

SACRAMENTO – In response to the PPIC poll released today, the No on Prop 45 Campaign released the following statement:

PPIC’s new poll has support for Proposition 45 below 50 percent — a stunning decline of 24 percentage points in just weeks. 

The initiative is losing among many key groups, including independents and women. 

These findings are consistent with our private polling released last month.

It is clear that once voters learn exactly what this measure does — allowing developers to fast-track polluting projects like data centers in communities across California, lowering our state’s defenses to Trump’s attack on clean air and water and then sticking us with the bill — the more they sour on it. 

PPIC also finds an overwhelming majority — nearly 80% — of Californians want a shorter ballot, and even more think ballot measures are too complicated and confusing. Prop 45, which is at the end of the ballot, is a massive 41-pages long — the exact opposite of what exhausted voters are looking for.
